E‑Taxi Scheme

Into 2025, CM Maryam launched the Punjab E‑Taxi Initiative, providing electric taxis via interest‑free installment plans, in partnership with Dewan Motors and NRTC. The program aims at job creation and cleaner transport.  

A pilot phase of around 1,100 e‑taxis was approved, supported by solar‑powered charging infrastructure.  

Police will deduct installment payments automatically from drivers’ earnings; prices are subsidized (~PKR 4–5 million per vehicle) with duty exemptions extended through December 2026.
